The main difference is how they send video. Analogue Cameras send it to a DVR (Digital Video Recorder) which does all most of the processing, like motion or simple line crossing. IP cameras often do most of the image processing, then send the CCTV Footage over your Wi-Fi or Ethernet network to the NVR (Network Video Recorder). NVRs tend to have more additional features like line crossing, left/removed items, people counting, ANPR, and identification analysis like a car colour/type, recognising a person’s face, differentiating between dogs, cats, and people etc.
